MOSCOW, Nov 21 (PRIME) -- The arrest of Carlos Ghosn, chairman of the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi alliance, will not hurt the company’s plans for production and sales of Nissan cars in Russia, a representative of the company told PRIME on Wednesday.
“There are no prerequisites for this situation to have any impact on production and sales of (Nissan) cars in Russia,” the company’s representative said.
The Tokyo Public Prosecutor’s Office arrested Ghosn and Nissan’s Representative Director Greg Kelly on Monday on suspicion of violation of Japan’s legislation. Ghosn is suspected of concealing half of his income from 2010 through 2015 amounting to about 5 billion yens, or U.S. $44 billion.
